All present or prospective students wanting to meet the Hebrew Language requirements at the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University without taking a class can do so by signing up for the Hebrew Placement Exam. The exam is called “placement” exam because the results will determine whether you have passed all Hebrew language requirements or are placed into an OTST551 (Hebrew I) or OTST552 (Hebrew II) course.
The exam can be taken only once and consists of two parts:
The exam is a proctored 3 hours exam. For the first part of the exam 60 minutes are allocated. The second part needs to be taken within 120 minutes.
The exam is offered each first Friday of the month at 9am. To register please fill in the sign-up form here. Information about the exam location is provided by the OT department.
Exam results will be available instantly. The placement exam can be taken only one time! However, the exercise links below can be used endlessly to make good preparation possible.
Below, you can see what type of questions you will have to answer in the different parts of the exam. Each exam part is hyperlinked (underlined, blue table headers) so that students can begin exam preparations. You can exercise and test yourself on each category by clicking the hyperlink. Please contact the department (email) to request a placement exam to be set up for your school. The requesting school should provide the OT department with the date and time they want the placement exam to be available. Instructors can also use the exercises in the tables above for their classes as class material.
